Join Voter Choice New Jersey at Morristown UU's "Democracy in Action" Day!

This year, Voter Choice New Jersey is bringing Rank the Desserts to Morristown UU (21 Normandy Heights Rd, Morristown) as part of "Democracy in Action," a full afternoon and evening on Saturday, October 10, 2026, dedicated to strengthening our democracy. From 4:30 to 6:30 PM, we'll introduce ranked-choice voting: what it is, how it works, and how it has been used in places like Maine, Alaska, and NYC. Then you'll cast your ballot in your very first ranked-choice election by sampling a variety of delicious desserts, ranking your favorites, and watching the paper ballots get counted in real time. Our session is one of several ways to take part, so come for any or all of the day. Start at 3:00 PM with non-partisan get-out-the-vote postcard writing, and stay after our session for a screening of Lightworkers, followed by a discussion and Q&A with director, writer, and producer Bobby Roth. Throughout the day there will be food, activities for kids, and a chance to meet local democracy-focused groups, including Green Earth Ministry, Red, Wine, and Blue, UU Faith Action, the League of Women Voters, and more. Come for the sweets, stay to learn how ranked-choice voting can make elections fairer and more representative, and RSVP here!
