Voter Choice NJ (VCNJ) invites you to join our politically diverse campaign to advance Ranked-Choice Voting (RCV) in our state. We are working for electoral reform that will increase the range of choice on the ballot, produce fairer outcomes, and increase voter participation.
RCV allows voters to rank the candidates on the ballot in order of preference, requires that candidates win with a majority of votes cast, and eliminates the notion of a “wasted” vote that currently exists when a voter considers choosing a candidate that is not one of the two major political parties. Whether an election is federal, state, or local, RCV makes elections more competitive and fair by encouraging the participation of more candidates and parties, and ensuring that all voters’ voices are heard.
Voter Choice NJ's strategy focuses exclusively on winning RCV for general elections at the local and state level. We're broadly supportive of any effort to bring RCV into use - whether for party primaries, student government elections, community groups or other settings. If you are campaigning for RCV in any of these other contexts, please consider us a resource - we're happy to advise and answer questions for any effort to promote RCV!
Voter Choice NJ is organized as a 501(c)(3) corporation under New Jersey’s Nonprofit Act. We are completely nonpartisan.
